However, I did get lucky last night. The sheriff who sat with me on the edge of the roundabout was VERY chill. He didn't ticket me for being on the road, didn't even mention not having a front plate. He was very chill.
I sat in the back of his car to keep warm (didnt want to burn my gas) and we talked. The computer system they use is pretty cool!
That sucks man. Hopefully there is no subframe damage. Pics of said carnage?
Hopefully... like I said the control arm is bent to hell. The wheel is fucked up. The back of the fender cut into the tire a little... so that may not be usable (it still holds air though).
Well I R3V'd my car last night... not too bad though
COming through a roundabout and hit a patch of ise, I tired to correct but the car whipped back and slammed into a curb
Whole front passenger side wheel is pushed back into the fender... car cant roll.
Tire still holds air though!
While waiting the hour and 40 minutes for the tow truck (thank god for AAA) I looked at it and determined that the control arm is fucked. The upper strut mount is twisted, but the strut tower looks good. The fender is bent up a little and the wheel is obviously gone.
Oh and my volvo lip got ripped off :(
Im going to look at it next week, I just need relax time. I felt so worthless when it happened, and I still sort of feel that way. It keeps playing over and over in my head.
So I know I need a new control arm at the very least. I hope my steering rack is okay. Now would be the perfect time to go low up front... but I am saving for a m52. Tie rod ends might be alright, and the strut housing looked okay. I hope the strut isnt bent...

The tow truck driver was really nice too. Sincerely 5hoes

I have found on the e46 M3 the pins on the exhaust camshaft gear that run the oil pump for the vanos have a tendancy to shear off. The car will still run, but the vanos will not operate. Not sure if this is an early model problem or not.
5toes: I would also start looking for a knuckle as well depending on how severely you bent your rim and control arm.
