Auto's can be fun.. Ask anyone who drag race's. They are more consistent, and provide safer launches at the line (unless you neutral drop..) There is a reason a lot of the super cars are going to the Flappy-paddle gearbox.

I know it's not a common swap, but there was a few listings where I could take a 1991 318is and swap a good 1991 325i M20 motor into it for fairly cheap.

If you don't give a shit about hp and torque and need a cheap engine just go m42. Less maintenance than an m20 or m30, and when the time comes for more juice the m/s5x sixes bolt up properly to the g240.

Yeah I'm sad that the car-part.com engines are like $750 for M42's, about the same for a M50 engine. It's been fun learning the different setups you can run with. Thanks for all the advice guys
