how many miles were on belt?
I bought my previous e30 with a broken timing belt. Pistons contacted valves in four cylinders. I replaced the head and it drove beautifully for 65,000 miles until the car was totaled.

So yeah, a broken timing belt does not necessarily mean completely toasted engine.

So you like Boxters and the Cayman, not the 911?

lol well played. I highly doubt anyone would agree with that statement. Guess I should have said mid/rear engine. I hate 911's so much I got one in my sig!

Here's to hoping! As soon as I heard the pop I kicked the clutch and turned the key off.

That's an experience I hope to NEVER HAVE. Although, I guess it could happen to anyone!

Sorry to hear that man, let me know if you need anything, got a few parts cars, and a few B27's to pick parts off of.

                  I have an 885 head =D
Also I got everything back together this morning and it didn't start, so I took the fuel line off and put it into a bottle and tried again, nothing, then I tested the relay, and I'm getting voltage to the wiring at the fuel pump so I guess I need a new pump. =(

Did you try hitting the fuel tank with a rubber mallet to see if you could get it to fire off for a bit?

When my pump went out, I was able to smack the tank, get it the pump free'd up and drive the car back to my shop. Threw a new pump in and done deal!

Alex, is your 885 Head going on a B27 block? What'd you do to the head? Stock cam, and just checked it out by a machine shop? You gotta come by the garage sometime, it's been too long.

Well it was worth a shot! I want a ride in your car when it's done. Was considering a MR.E head but it's more than I want to spend on this budget beater.

I think i'm going 272 or 274 MR.E Cam with my 2.7i engine. If it had higher compression i'd go a much hotter cam but it seems my engine is going a different route... which i'm kinda okay with. ; )

Why not? Is this not a reasonable place to park?

                                I prefer boxster/cayman to 911.......

if it didn't come at the price of being a Porsche guy, the new Cayman would be on my list for 2014 cars.
