Guys any pointers to where I could learn about engine workings, rebuilding them and such? I am reading some m42 threads right now, but they definitely require some prior knowledge. Maybe there's a good book I could buy on amazon or something?

I haven't done anything like that, thinking about starting with building an M42 this summer so that if I fuck it up it's not too bad.

I have a spare pan. Just need to pick Stevo iX's brain and have some welding done. Strength in the iX drivetrain has been proven with 500+ HP M20 iX's. Hopes and dreams. :(

I picked up the E36 Bentley manual definitely step in the right direction, only thing that sucks is the intake manifold isnt covered aka "Mess under the intake" but it isn't a big deal cause that's covered thoroughly on the forums and through part diagrams. Plus if you m/s50/52 you can use the same book.

I sent him a pm asking about what he needs in order to come up. Such as a plane ticket, a place to stay, work and supplies. After that ill see if I want the task of setting this up or not. If not ill pass the info to someone with more time and experience.
