This time I found the reason it didn't go on.... Tightened the tb there and slipped it on. I already know this is going to pay off if all my bales are good! Yay!
It's also easier to turn if you put the trans in neutral :o ask me how I know, lol!

Rotate it four times and check the marks, since the crank rotates twice per cam revolution. Happy trails

well im glad i posted on here about me being a tooth off.. i honestly didnt think one tooth would make a difference. well i was wrong.. like usual! put her back together and fired it up.. damn she purred. Its like a whole new car. Before it was running but the engine was shaking and all noisy, now it doesnt shake and quite!! i love it.
One a side note, I unplugged the battery to reset the cel.. then fired her up and it warmed up idle was really smooth. I took her out and drove her... had fun on a couple corners.. and came back home. Killed it and fired it up again.
The idle bounced 3 times and settled back down. and then i fired her up about 10 more times, the idle was good.. but i can still tell it was off. Maybe like 100-50 rpms but you can hear the engine.
Checked the cel and still the 1222 lambda fucking thing.
Again thanks for telling me to redo the timing! Good night ya'll

Sometimes I really love bmw's. I took a little spirited drive in the e28(the sport seats make the car feel do much better I couldn't help myself) , despite the fact that I had what I thought was a possible rodknock. Today the noise has completely gone away, I feel like it runs better, and my dash lights that havnt worked since I bought the car, started working.

Moral of the story: sport seats and a heavy foot fix everything.

Just smack the dash, the lights will come back on.

Not the first rally car to grace my block, actually. Saw this one a while back from a brand that I'm a little more in line with:

I was doing some peeking in the trans and saw a small amount of metal shavibgs in the oil. Should I get a shop to inspect?

If it doesn't have a magnetic drain plug, I wouldn't worry about it, and would just put a magnetic drain plug in to eliminate that problem in the future. Most trans have a magnetic drain plug to collect all the little metal shavings.

Thanks. I was a little worried.

For those of you who have driven a dogleg, how long will it take to get used to the shift pattern? I haven't driven a manual in about 3.5 years. I guess it's like riding a bike

My Porsche had a dogleg. You'll get used to it quick.
