    sorry for forgetting about this, moved on to other things and hadn't' got back to this till just now. Anyway, as I said the seal I got seams way to small, but upon further inspection, I'm not sure that is really the case. I think it is more my door, which isn't mounted exactly perfect, so it sticks out a bit at the top rear. The ebay seal I got compared to my stock seal is actually a bit almost the same size. The best part of the stock seal I could measure was;

    .57 wide at the bulb, .55 tall at the bulb, overall height of 1.1

    Now I only replaced my driver side seal. My passenger side door fits way tighter, so I think I will try this same seal on that side and see how it goes. If it works there, I will probably order a shorter piece of the one usualdevient posted to try on my drivers door. The only thing that really worries me about that one is the gap that installs on the body, it is a lot bigger than the one I bought, or the stock seal, so I'm not sure it will fit very tight. Then again it does have fingers on both inside edges, so that might help a lot.

        Pretty sure the guy is selling his e30, so that's probably your answer. :(

          The car is not for sale yet. Sorry for the delay. I am still working a Good off the self alternative. If I can find one I will share it as public information so that you can purchase from the retailer. Then I can continue to work on a perfect solution. If I sell my E30 I will not likely be without one for long and I have access to three other chassis for testing if I don’t get another in the near future.

            I have been looking for cheaper alternatives for the e30 sedan (1991 318i) doors weather seal and tried a lot of them until now, 2 days ago I measured the OEM one that I have, to match the dimensions with the aftermarket one and found one on AMAZON that fits really good if not better than the OEM !! and here is the link for the product

                  Looks really promising and a reasonable cost - good find. Any pictures of the Amazon seal installed?

                    you will feel it is harder to close the door with this seal because it doesn't have holes like the OEM so you need to make some small holes on the aftermarket one to let the air pressure to escape. here is a photo of the OEM one that has holes

                    then I took the fabric out of the OEM to paint it black then I will glue it to the aftermarket

                        Pictures are great - thanks for posting!

                        That seal material looks to fit really well and is the closest thing I have seen to an OEM alternative. You did a nice clean cut on the corner too BTW and good tip on the little holes to let the air out of the inner seal.

                        Interesting find on the pile, that would complete the OEM look but honestly the plain seal does not look to bad.

                        I will be placing my order soon - again thanks for posting.

                          Did you buy two rolls of 10ft length or is there a separate listing for a continuous 20ft roll? I only see a 10ft length listed in the link.

                            I bought 20ft as one piece, there was an option in that same listing you can choose the length but looks like they are out of the 20ft, here is my AMAZON order
