unless it was tuned for that maf and you don't go FI, you won't see any gains, and could actually cause trouble for you.
mafs work by heating and testing resistance of a wire suspended in your air intake. increasing the diameter of the intake tube decreases total air that is passing over the maf, decreasing it's thermal transference to the atmospheric air, changing the resistance and therefore readings compared to a smaller tube intake.
it's unlikely that the larger maf was the soul cause of the insane afr readings, but it's not like it helped..
