For those that have done it, you think it would be worth the trouble if it's only going to be that way for 2-3 months? Switching to plastic here pretty soon.

This is worth doing even if you only leave it that way for a week.
It's easiest to do both front and rear bumpers off the car. Knowing what I know now, I'd just pull the bumps with shocks attached, lay them down over some plastic painter's drop cloth, suit up in a face shield and something I am OK with ruining, then drill those mofos out. BTW for those who haven't done it, make sure you drill far enough... if a lightning quick uber-violent oil geyser doesn't come out and soak everything in a 10ft radius, you probably didn't.. . .

Or, what I did was just pushed it in. I braced my back against a wall and pushed with mu legs.
Just make sure to put a bucket or something under to catch all that nasty fluid.

The only problem that angers me is that lining to the left that looks warped above the bumper.
Mine and i think most people does that same shit.
Can i take that trim from a cabrio and put it on my eta? Because i found a cabrio in the junkyard that the trim is plastic and not warped.
Should be the same right?

Actually, I got lucky.. mine just PSHHHHHHH'd gas.. I didn't have any oil expelled until I pushed them in.. by hand, mind you 8)
I drilled one hole in each shock.. the part of the tube that is the smallest.. I guess you could call it the 'piston' portion.~Rogan

That blue oil inside gave me a headache. That shit is toxic!
Make sure you drill deeep. I'd say make it so the bit is at least an inch inside the shock just to be sure. On the rear of my car I drilled it attached and then just pushed and lightly kick my bumper and it slide right in. Easy as pie and it tuck sooo much deeper than I expected in the rear.
I'm also super impressed by how you guys have painted you DB's. I figured it would look cheap, ghetto and all around like garbage but it actually looks great!! I'm going to do it too!

I drilled on the side of the shock. It's a pretty big hole too. Could it just be seized?
