Notes
Offered for sale is a very special vehicle brought to us by a distinguished BMW collector. This is believed to be a car Hartge modified very early in its life before they were registered as a manufacturer. For those unfamiliar, Hartge was a tuning company that specialized in tuning and modifying cars made by BMW. In 1985 Hartge was approved as a car manufacturer by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA), allowing them to register a new car as a Hartge product in its own right rather than a modified BMW. This car has been completely restored from the ground up and recently had a major service before being offered for sale. The M20 engine has been rebuilt from the ground up with new Mahle pistons, 885 cylinder head, intake/exhaust valves, HD rockers, head bolts, cylinder head gaskets, water pump, thermostat, Gates Race timing belt, tensioner, and spring. The odometer was set to reflect the mileage since the restoration was completed. While the engine was disassembled for the rebuild the shop made sure to photograph the Hartge stamped engine internals. There is little on this car that hasn't been refreshed in the pursuit of perfection. Seats, panels, dash, clock, cluster, console, switches, windows, steering column, and seat belts have all been replaced with new components. The a/c and heater have been serviced and both work great. BMW Classic decodes the VIN# as a BMW 323i built-in 10-10-1984 with optional extras including Special paint (Macao Blue), 5-speed sports transmission, anti-lock braking system, power steering, electrically adjustable passenger mirror, sliding/vent roof, without model designation, without a rear spoiler, sports seats, rear sun-blinds, air-conditioning, and velour floor-mats. The car checks all the boxes, very fun, collectible, and well sorted.

Gratuitous eye candy car ad.
1992 BMW 850i - 6 Speed Manual - $38000
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...129284938.html
Unfortunately, the time has come to sell my 1992 BMW 850i 6 speed manual with the famous V12. This car has been a childhood dream of mine but due to certain circumstances I must sell.
Before I took ownership of the car, I spent years trying to find the most well taken care of example. There was no expense spared on anything with this car. All work has been performed by Avus Autosport in Glendale California. I have a binder full of records which includes over $60k in receipts for 2018 and 2019 alone. I have the clean CA title in hand.
The engine was completely rebuilt in 2019 using all new components (has around 600 miles on rebuild). Everything has been replaced or refurbished down to every bolt in the engine. Runs flawlessly and never skips a beat.
Cosmetically the car is in amazing shape for the age with the exception of a couple small dings (can arrange for PDR with serious buyers). The Mauritius Blue paint is original and shines like it did when new. The interior is also all original down to the factory head unit.
The car does have a few tasteful modifications which include Bilstein suspension, AP Racing big brake kit and period correct 19” Alpina wheels.
Every time I drive this car, I get compliments and head turns. I’ve even had people ask me if it was a press car for a future BMW model. I would like this car to go to a fellow enthusiast who truly understands the significance of such an extraordinary car.
Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Looks like it still works.
