and as a side not for the OP, you say my opinion doesnt count, yet i have an S14 which kicks the crap out of the M42 and they isnt enough torque for DDing for me. and when i have the money that car will get an s38 or s54
I'll gladly take that S14 off of your hands when your ready to swap!

An m20 car is just as slow. I've driven both hard and raced both. They are the same.
"no way you're on crack" stfu and race them together pls. ;)

Ok I'm going honest here 100% no exaggeration. The M10 car horribly slow. It needs to
be FLOORED to get some speed up. Thank the lord you don't have an m10 car.
What's the slowest car you've driven? an m10 car is slower.

What were your lap times for each car?

so, an extra 25hp and 40ft-lbs of torque makes no difference? yeah right - you're being delusional.
Comparing to M20 cars - isn't it nearly +35hp? A buddy had a 325 for a short time while I was still rocking the M42. I seriously was wishing for the M20 after driving it, the feel was much much quicker (and my M42 was healthy).

no wonder, a 2.93 is a long way from a 4.10, bet you got 60 mpg though lol.

Wow I can't imagine a 2.93 rear... That sounds insanely tall... I had a 4.27LSD in mine that I swapped for a 4.10 because the 4.27 was STUPID sloppy... The change was hugely noticeable. It's obviously slower with that small of a gearing change. I can't imagine that 2.93, must be able to go like 50 in 1st...

I miss that 4.27 and will be rebuilding when I have time...

                        I miss my supercharged M42.

                        Does that count?

I had a 318iS, DD a 325e, have a 325iC. The e is an easier to drive car because I don't ever have to downshift on the freeway to climb a ridge. I do miss the high-strung nature of the M42 at times though, usually in tunnels.

I'm in same as OP's situation..
will it swap to m42b21 or m52b28 for DD
Huge influence in my place are hot tropical temperature and terrible traffic jam..
stop and go is PITA for the motor

My friend have e30 with m52b31
he is struggling to solve overheating, and for sure with AC

M42B21 more simple but will it worth compare I6?
88mm diesel crank costly, but no overheat issue

                            terrible traffic
M5x will not survive from overheating

                            highway traffic
M5x will survive from overheating, but it cant be on high rev for long time

There are high capacity bolt-on aluminum radiators you can try.
Even the e28 has more capacity. The key is a good electric fan that pushes
                              allot of cfm.

where you bought that e28 aluminum radiator?
did you have same experience, right?
