He never specified over what mileage interval. Over 250k miles? Yeah, doesn't exist. 50k? I'd bet there's cars out there that meet that standard. The Jetta I have now has been pretty damn reliable over 500k miles (dad bought it in '88 ). I was actually pretty amazed by how much broken shit my E30 had with only half the miles.

you're talking drivetrain though. also, that car is now 20 years old. I guarantee something has broken on it by now. it probably runs, sure. Rubber breaks down though - and nobody cares about having tight suspension on a 20 year old Civic.
he did specify - he said never. The idea is that a Toyota will never have anything, ever break on it, which is total nonsense. They have their own issues, even the older ones. 22RE head gaskets anyone? Ignition switches, frame issues, not to mention the unintended acceleration problems that got people killed.Comment
