Ok, but if he makes it with no further damage, you would be donating the $10 to him since he succeeds!

Im going to say those straps last one week, so I will give him until the end of the day on the 23rd. He makes it past then, I will gift him my $10.

Anyone else want to get in on it?

We are getting in to colder weather, so there is a chance of some ice and our usual solutions of throwing crud on the road for traction/deicing/job security.. IF it hits freezing, I'll go 4 days on the straps.

Should you? No but it doesn't mean you cant. Anyone who has worked at a shop will tell you they have seen cars come in with far worse and still manage to be on the road no "major" issues. Ball joints are probably the #1 thing people just let go until they are being held in by hope and good faith.

..actually, they are still holding that rear quarter panel together. I should probably fix that before Laguna..

I can't wait to see the backup that this causes. Like I-5 doesn't have enough issues already.

I think it'll be fine with those straps. Its not like he'll be drag launching or doing clutch kicks - the 5 bolts that normally support the diff can take a lot of abuse, if he's easy on it, he should be fine.

                          I'm still alive guys.
I have three more days of driving left before I can fix the subframe showing up from SF on Tuesday. Work Monday-Wednesday then I'll drive the GF's truck thanksgiving, and work on the BMW Friday-Sunday. Won't be driving the car at all this weekend.
