are you doing your trailing arm bushings too? I hope so. they're a lot easier than the subframe anyway, an standard 2 prong puller with a bolt will do the trick.

Let us know your impressions of the urethane stuff. I have heard many people think the urethane is too harsh for street driving.

I doubt they will be too harsh, considering I want some stiff ass Ground Control next...

The red things are BMP urethane dust boots. My dust boots were destroyed so I figured these would make good replacements. They seem quite sturdy.

Nando, I honestly didn't even think of doing the trailing arm bushings, and they seem to be in good shape. Don't most people just use the OEM rubber bushings? They aren't very expensive, but the urethane eccentric ones are. Can the rubber ones be pushed in themselves? I will probably do them in the next couple months, but I hadn't planned to do them now so I am going to wait.

15 year old rubber flexs like you won't believe. Just because they look ok, doesn't mean they are.

you can get standard urethane replacements instead of eccentric bushings, they aren't too expensive. the rubber ones don't press right in that easily, compared to the poly bushings. I got mine from IE.

Are you using a bushing press to put the bushings back in or a different method?

                  Removing Bushings

I recently had to repalce all of my bushings on my 2002. Instead of burning them out i took a Dremel tool and drilled into the bushings around the out side of the center and got one side completely broken up, I then took a screw driver slapped the control arm into a vice and hit the screw driver with a hammer tell the bushing popped out. It worked really well and i didn't have any nasty burnt rubber in the garage.

urethane bushings just slide right in.. no press needed.

                      Day 8:

Reinstalled the rear subframe. It was kind of a pain. It slid into place ok, but I couldn't get the top small part of the bushing to slide up into the frame. It took a LONG time and a lot of torquing to get it in. I broke a socket by cracking it in 17 places. I had to buy a deep 22mm socket from Sears to finish it.

Stephanie drilled my airbox like Robert did, and I installed my K&N panel filter. The box came out great, but she reinstalled it so no pics.

The tranny is coming out on Wednesday, and hopefully the new one in, as well as the pedals. The car should be done by the weekend I am hoping.

What parts did she drill out?

im guessing he meant that she did this.... it just gives you the sound of a cone without the hot air intake...
