i would LOVE a 1972 Datsun 510 with a build SR20DET. All 240z suspension components and a full cage. BRE front valence. Kinda like my avatar. Holy crap that would be so much fun.

Ahem....SUPRA undeniably one of the best cars ever brought to the states. You figure 25k to buy then pick up a BPU kit for a grand and be pushing 450 to the wheels.

though they lack torque, its always fun to tack 10 grand. and rev like none other.

I was riding in an eg and ITR engine, built head nonetheless.....and I looked over and saw it flying past 9 large and was afraid something was wrong.......hahah

But then I was like, oh, it's a Honda, those rev fucking nuts! But of course I would love an engine I don't HAVE to redline to go anywhere. (Still push M20 to 6500-6700 as much as possible.....wish it had more grunt)

Oh well. Even though I was riding in a sub-14 second car, it didn't feel fast at all. (Push versus pull I guess)

yea, it wont feel that fast (unless your rolling with an h22) but they will move.

Sorta hard to pick just one in voting. I kinda HAVE left the e30 community, but again haven't really. I am now on an e21 binge, since I've picked one up to turn into a track rat. And I'm STILL looking for an e24 or e28 to swap my M102 motor into once I rebuild it. 400hp on stock internals with merely a chip and WG mod from a BMW motor can NOT be argued with. I've also got a Mk III Jetta VR6 that is good for a smile or two, but not really something to ditch e30's over. The 5spd and snarl of that VR6 with an intake are to die for, but the 4dr sedan weight and FWD get boring (or rather dicey) real quick.

As for something that might get me to sell all of my cars for just ONE vehicle, that would be an Americal V8....well, actually European by way of Australia. The new Ponitac GTO is friggin NUTS!!! I got to test drive one a while back and it was incredible. I liked it even better than the Z06 I drove. It might not perform better, but it feels 'better'....I think it is the Opal/German roots.
SOMEBODY messed with my sig so now you get this one:

Robert, my friend's GUTTED EG hatch with a modded ITR engine, Tein coil overs, etc. etc. was faster than fuck, and the lack of torque was a non issue. That thing could have ran circles around my car, in the straight line, on the track, wherever, and he only spent about $10,000 on it all (and it has some SICK shit).

                      RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

I agreed they are fast. But the thing is. Did it FEEL fast as fuck? Or ddi you simply notice you were going fast, using visual indications.

Well it's obvious who I went with. Always liked CRX's. Honda mastered the art of making big power out of small displacement engines and they make up for the lack of torque through gearing. Plus VTEC, gives you the best of both worlds, fuel economy and power. It's really different from my M3 and that's what I was looking for and the best thing is it only cost me around $2500-3000. These 2 cars keep me on my toes. =P

The only honda I would drive as my "fun car" would be an NSX. Why? because its RWD.

I can't stand FWD and could never "step back" in drivetrain layout after being so accustomed to RWD.

not to mention when a car weighs less than 2500lbs, torque isnt quite as much of an issue
