What is this, under my back seat??

This might be a newb question but I was cleaning under my back seat and found this little box. Have no idea what it is. Anybody??

I think that’s the part number on the back.

Look at an electrical diagram for those wires that it connects to and you can probably figure out why it was installed. Failing that, disconnect it and power it up.

My guess would be part of a car alarm too - some include alarms inside the car to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the thieves if they go for the smash and grab thinking they'll get the job done before anyone responds to the alarm.

I think the 2-85 is an install date of Feb 1985. My guess, what year is your car? If you following the wiring, you will have the best way of finding out.

My guess would be an old school shock sensor for an alarm. Not sure why it would be under the back seat vs under the dash though.

i don't think it's a shock sensor, I pulled one out of my car, from under that dash you are correct, it had more wires hooking on the harness of the unit and little knobs to control the sensitivity of the device.

Looks like some kind of speaker to me?
