Go to the tuning tab and open "Acceleration Wizard" you will see two graphs "MAP Based AE" and "TPS Based AE" right below the TPS graph input put 100 and the MAP Based AE graph will turn of and it will be 100% TPS.
Your cold accel enrichment is also in that window, try 130%.
For your timing to be accurate you should verify it with a timing light. Not sure if the M42 has timing marks....?

I'm going to give those cranking settings a shot tomorrow. Mine are the same as yours.
If our settings were that far off I'm surprised the car starts... shouldn't not be the case?
Edit: Here are my current ignition and wheel settings.

I calibrated my tps when I first jumped into this. Is it either or? Im confused as to which i am running on...
Also for some reason I cannot select a trigger angle valve of 114. It says the value is to high, even when I select +45

In order to fix my starting issues I started playing with the very bottom value trim angle (deg)
Originally it was set to zero. The value here of +2 made my starts much better.

EXCELLENT!!!!Here is some trigger info:
This is exactly our trigger setups since they are Bosch managed 4cyl. Instead of 60 deg, you need to use 114 deg (entered as 69 deg +45 deg).
Yes
This adjustment would be for afterstart correct?Leave a comment:

60-2 setup is 6deg between teeth (360deg / 60 teeth = 6 deg)
Tooth number 20 lines up with sensor at TDC, so tooth 20 to 1 = 19 teeth
Therefore 19 teeth x 6deg = 114deg (Tooth #1 Angle)Leave a comment:

Let me upload and post up again. I know my engine runs set a 60deg. Ive got some time to mess around with it some more.
wazzu, You are correct. In the settings in order to achieve this you will have to select +45 and then enter a new valveLeave a comment:

Ryan, can you post up a screen shot of your improved spark settings?
Im looking at Josephs settings too.
Anyone out there have a VERIFIED trigger angle? I have verified the 20th tooth after the gap to be TDC. This would be 120deg yet Ryan and Joseph are running 60deg. Would the engine even run being 60deg off on the primary trigger setting?Leave a comment:

I had long (not hard) starts before adding an ICV. It really helps out, especially with electronics running... A/C, lights, fans, etc.
Edit: Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll send you my .msq, I got one of yours finally from Nick and am going to do a comparison. He was asking about my trigger settings though which, honestly, I have never messed with. I got the MS with a tune on it (m42) from DTM and just kept their spark, timing, and trigger settings as they had it. I didn't feel comfortable messing with those.
I've been tuning injector settings, Ve, AFR targets, ICV, warmup, cold start, etc type settings. Maybe I should look into the other stuff as well.Leave a comment:

^yes amongst other things. Im going to rework my ve tables as well as afr first.
Things are looking up. Plus the more research/reading about tuning I do the easier understanding all this becomes. cool shit, but VERY technical.Leave a comment:

Which value did you change? I'm just now looking at your MSQ and "trigger angle" does not look right. Did you change it to 75deg +45deg addition?
Can you send me your new MSQ?Leave a comment:

starting issues resolved. Cranking timing was all out of whack. Now moving on to ve and afr tables. ;D ;D ;DLeave a comment:
