Cam sensor is not pulling down on the scope. Looking for an alternative came sensor solution now. I have had tons of problems with sensors. Holley sniper MAP sensors are complete junk. DO NOT USE THESE unless you want to waste time and beat your head against a wall for days. The sensors do not read the correct KPA at atmosphere or under vacuum. 3 different sensors, same problem on all. Went to a local parts store and bought a 2.5 Bar BOSCH and it instantly worked.

    Great.

Now I need to find a digital cam sensor that mirrors the M42 design. Looking at mini cooper stuff and others as well. Will report.

My cam sensor issue has been solved. The cherry sensor I ordered for the cam is not magnetic. It is a speed sensor that requires a magnet to pass by it in order to get a square wave.

Small mistake caused huge loss of time.

Attempted a cam sensor fit from a F chassis 328i but the sensor is not long enough to catch the signal from the M42 cam gear peg. Deciding on waiting for the correct sensor to arrive or retrofitting something I have here at the shop that can work...

Once this is sorted I can begin the self learn tuning feature that is built into the Terminator X.

Glad you're successfully working through the kinks with the setup, seems like you can see the light at the end of the tunnel now

Yes! Certainly a lot of work so far to get to this point. Hoping to have a running video up soon.

Approaching 100 miles driven on new ECU. Working out the bugs.

              Slight subject adjustment.

Much needed safety equipment soon to be installed.

Some installed photos. Bias valve is not working as there is no flow of fluid to the rear brakes. Waiting on a replacement from Wilwood. Still need to fabricate some form of support for the air ducting to the front brakes. Possibly need to update to a larger master cylinder. Waiting to finish the bleed process and test before we move forward.

Brakes all sorted after a warranty bias valve from Wilwood was sent. Stopping power is wild now. New ECU is working well so far with only minor glitches. Currently @ 17psi.

I just picked up some Wilwood's off marketplace that will fit with my euroweaves. I'm excited for the extra stopping power too.

Glad to see you back up and running! 300whp is the perfect amount in our chassis, I bet 17psi feels great.

I wasnt prepared for the insane amount of brake dust the brakes put off. Seriously turns my wheels black in a few miles HA

Heres a updated engine bay shot. I would estimate 80% done tuning with Terminator X ECU. The starts are dialed in. Cold, Hot, Mid temp, no matter what it starts like a stock car. Just this alone is seriously a huge milestone with this car. Years of battling Megasquirt and was never successful with getting the ASE and starting up to work correctly.

I will turn the boost back to 21psi soon but only after my custom set of Image wheels arrive. 7 inch wheels in the rear is not safe at all...

New axle back exhaust fabricated. The muffler was the last part of the system that was still original from back when I started this thread.

Finished section. Forever representing the single cut out 318is rear valence.

                        Should last another 10 years.

Looking good. I kind of wish I had kept the single cutout, but I was and still am a sucker for the dual tip look. You really have the turbo M42 build with staying power, I didn't realize it had been 15 years.

It sure has been a long and slow progression. I rolled the ODO back when I built the new engine. Currently has 6400 miles on it HA.

Any news on your E34 wagon ? Im still staring down a bench full of engine parts awaiting assembly

None that is good. I still haven't installed the B58 ignition coils or replaced the rear bushings, the two things stopping me from turning the boost up past 15-17psi, after that I'll find out where stock fuel lines max out and if the oil burning issue is going to hold me back. Getting the engine rebuilt by (a shop) out of expediency instead of finding a new shop to hone it and reassembling it myself appears to have been a huge mistake. It also needs rear tires to be safe on a wet road, and needs the intermittent AC fault fixed (baffled by that at this point). Cursed project.

Found a mobile dyno at a local speed shop and tossed the old girl on to see how things are. After some adjustments we ended up doing 6 pulls. 305WHP
276 TQ @ 17psi. Ill post up some run files here in a bit.
