decided to go to Pick N Pull and see what injectors the E39 that I pulled the crossover from had in it. It had 8 of the new style bosch 0280156347 injectors, that looked new. Needless to say, for $100 for the set, I jumped on them.

Got everything Slammed back together, and gave it a crank. Took a second to reprime the fuel system, but we got life again, and no coolant leaks that I can see!

Im so happy, and ready to Rip it again! Id take it now, but I have a banquet for my step daughters track team to get to.

      Dumpster fire update!
I've had it back on the road for about 2 weeks now. And it is awesome still. Has not lost a drop of coolant since fix. The new fuel injectors are great, I had a noticeable power gain, in a little bit better gas mileage. The last tank of gas calculated out to 22 miles a gallon. I'm planning a few short road trips, be the first time I have pushed this car more than 2 hours away from my house. I did have the engine oil level light come on the other day when I was out driving, I worried about that a little bit, but I also put in a actual oil pressure gauge and I was still getting good oil pressure so I knew I wasn't low on oil. But to play it safe I pulled over and checked anyways. Just as I thought oil level is good, but the sensor has taken a shit. I'm on my way to the junkyard today to see if the 540 that I scavenged the fuel injectors, and the coolant crossover is still there. If it is I'm snagging that sensor. Those damn things are expensive brand new.

on the list of dumb things that are just quality of life projects, I managed to find a 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300E that had a good power antenna at pick and pull near me. A little bit of Google foo told me that the antennas are basically the same as the E30. With the thing only costing 9 bucks I decided to take the Gamble. So they are not exactly the same antenna. The mounting is different. And there is no easy way to take the mounting off of the E30 and put it on the MB one. They are similar part numbers, and they are identical size and shape. Of course the electrical plug is different, and they are wired slightly different. What I ended up doing was taking all of the guts out of the MB unit, and putting them in my E30 cases. Luckily everything is modular enough that I did not have to do any soldering to swap the Electoral over, it was merely unplugging the pigtail between the board and the plug, and plugging in the BMW one. So now I have a working power antenna again, I know it's a gee whiz bullshit thing, but to me I like it. I have a modern stereo, a Sony DSX-A415BT, and I was hoping that when you had the stereo on anything but the radio it would put the antenna down. It does not unfortunately, so that being said, I shook the parts box and found a basic stock BMW on/off button that fits into the dash above the stereo, the same area as the hazards. I wired that button up to be a interrupt for the antenna, so if I'm running Bluetooth I can turn that button off and the antenna goes down. I know a trivial little bullshit thing but I like it.

The next big project is putting in a higher volume/high pressure Fuel pump, and getting rid of E30 dual pump setup. What I got is basically a Warbo 300 equivalent. It should be more rhan enough flow and pressure. I have the new pump, and the stuff to do it, except the new High pressure line, that goes from the hanger to the fuel filter. I just need time. In the near future I do need to replace the gas tank though, it has had a big dent in and since I got the car, and it's in a place where I can't push it out from the fuel pump/Gauge hole. The most gas I've ever been able to put in this car at one time is 10 gallons, which means that dent is taking 2 gallons away from me. I might go to the late model tank, I got to do some more research to figure out what I have to do to make that happen. 16 gallons would be nice

I still absolutely love this car, and these days I'm driving it More than my normal daily my 2010 F150. Definitely get better gas mileage. Stay tuned for more

At 22mpg I think you're getting mpg than I am in my M20!
