Very true. I'm starting a tig welding class at CAC later this month so I'm hoping I can catch on quickly to be able to do some work on the e30. But do you have any recommendations for a spot out here that can fix the crack on my pan and add a drain fitting if I dont feel comfortable doing it?

Got my shifter assembly today from e30partsonline. Also got my driveshaft from there in the past. Prices have been very reasonable and shipping has been fast, plus excellent packaging.

Also scored this Elring head gasket kit from RockAuto for $40.

Unrelated but got these rear shocks for my Focus ST as well. Need to get the fronts and some lowering springs now. At 135k miles, a refresh is well overdue. I had Feal coil-overs for about 50k miles but sold them a while ago.
Next I'll be purchasing a clutch and flywheel to complete most of my manual swap. I still need the bottom end gasket kit. Any opinions on paper vs cork gasket? And opinions on McMasterr Metric Blues for head bolts?
