    Hey kam,

Awesome build man! Its nice to see a stock m20 be able to handle this power. I had a question about the turbo manifold you are using....i seen that you added a wastegate provision, I have the same manifold. Do you experience any boost creep? also did you weld it more to one side of the collector. I am trying g to fix a boost creep issue, and this looks like a good solution. I have my wastegate after the turbine, something g I will gladly change. Thanks man

No boost creep issues, it holds nice and steady. its just the cheapo ebay manifold., its a bit more on the left side of the manifold but both ports are combined for a good inch before hand so it flows nicely. It doesn't creep at low boost or high boost.

Just read the whole thread from start to finish for the first time, really awesome inspirational stuff. You've really mapped out the path for us turbo stock motor guys. I was curious about the aerodynamic benefit/purpose of the splitter? Do you notice a difference with it? Did you notice any difference with the Rieger and Alpina lips versus the stock/IS lip? I'm considering the Alpina because it comes with the whole valence and my front valence is thrashed. I'd really love an MTech II but those seem to be quite hard to come by.

thanks, the splitter protrudes out 3" and then carries under the car a good 12". technically it should benefit the car's aero but I have to proof of that. the alpina valance is much wider than the rieger so it hides my tires much like the E30 M3 does. Again having your tires out of incoming air helps aero again.

Awesome thank you! Looks like a valuable mod considering the not so aerodynamic nature of these cars.

Formula 1 says every 1mm closer to ground equals 100lbs more down force or something. Might be 10 I forget. Reason why they banned the flexy wing.

Hey Kam, thanks for the reply! I will do this soon, when I replace my leaky VR head gasket. Kam maybe you can chime in on an issue I am having. I am getting this whistle sound from the engine bay, it happens when I let go of the accelerator. Other symptoms are my car running lean under vacuum, but running well under boost. It seems loud when throttle is suddenly released and gauge drops from boost to vacuum. From what I have gathered from Google search, it may be a vacuum leak. Keith is currently looking over my last log, he has been patient with me and doing great at getting me tuned. I just want to fix any issues I may have that may cause improper tune. Don't mean to jack the thread! Thanks

does your car have a BPV or BOV?

unhook and clog the the vac line to it and see if it runs any different, I've seen BOVs that dont close all teh way with the car running cause annoying whistling as well as sporadic boost issues. Is you car lean under decel or just all vacuum?

I will try that! Mainly during decel, idle for the most part is good; although I have seen it lean out during idle as well. Cruising on all gears (under vacuum) AFR readings are anywhere between 15-17. I'll let you know what the bov test yields.

Damn Kam! You hit that nail in the head. Did as you said and the whistle sound went away, installed back on, and whistle was back. Did that routine a few times, and it proves to be that. Thank you! So is my BOV shot or do I just need to adjust it? Also, could that have caused idling issues, improper tunes, the lean mixture? Thanks again man, feels good to have that taken care of.

your supposed to go full lean on decel I would say letting off above 2000rpms. It should not cause idling issues with megasquirt. Your lean issue likely lies in the tune, but letting off the gas to slow down the engine should go full lean untill it returns to preset point probably around 1500rpms, they even do that from the factory.

if you tighten the bov and still have issue/noise its likely junk, I've seen them break to the point where they never seal no matter the adjustment.

ok, ill do some adjustments to the BOV this weekend and see if it helps. I am getting ready to replace head gasket on it, any tips or advice on parts to get to (gaskets, bolts, etc...). I am only running 8psi. I am spitting black soot off the tail every time i start the car, not sure what that is related to. Doing the head gasket to stop some oil leaks on the front and back of engine.

only advise for the head gasket is make sure you clean teh block extremely well, I use parts cleaner and a razor blade. Also I find it not only the easiest but also quickest to bolt the intake manifold and turbo manifold to the head and drop it in like that, makes the oil return tube a piece of cake. will likely need an extra person to help line it up though.
