only advise for the head gasket is make sure you clean teh block extremely well, I use parts cleaner and a razor blade. Also I find it not only the easiest but also quickest to bolt the intake manifold and turbo manifold to the head and drop it in like that, makes the oil return tube a piece of cake. will likely need an extra person to help line it up though.

Do I need to take the head to a machine shop for shaving, it did not over heat or any thing like that. Which head gasket to get? I see mix reviews about gotze being the oem supplier, but then i hear that it's not as good as the oem, Sounds like a contradiction.

I adjusted the bov , and so far the problem seems to have cleared. i had to set it to harder.

So how much boost you running now, and for how long without blowing a gasket, I seen you had a couple blow on you. I started like you, automatic turbo. Got a good deal on a complete manual conversion kit, so the auto didn't last long. The auto tranny held well though.

highest elevation auto-x in America. 8200ft. tons of issue at first with barometric correction but got it dialed in. nothing like bashing a $500 front valance into cones:)
turned into turbo E30 drift/revlimiter party. I probably spent 10seconds of each lap bouncing off the limiter while burning out because gravely pavement.

tahoe drive today, was fun for a bit but got boring.

so on the 100mile drive which was 50miles of fast freeway, 15miles of cruising backroads an then 35miles of twisty downhill mountain roads, I managed just under 26MPG! I think my tune is finally finished, I've got a good amount timing, almost perfect AFR at every single load. I spent a good amount of time at 80+mph kissed around 130mph and still managed great gas mileage. The 3.15 rear end really makes freeway driving awesome, 5th gear cruising keeps RPMs really low. every other turbo E30 used about 1/2 a tank I hardly used a 1/4tank.

yeah I turned ego control on after I got it pretty much tune spot on, just so it can make minor changes to keep things nice and steady.
