one day i'll be able to post a happy update. i got the rust fixed and a ton of parts thrown at the car [that i will post at a later date] but under a week of the car being back in commission it developed a misfire. i threw some new plugs and a spare set of coils at it and it still misfired.

went to ironfreaks and grabbed his compression tester.

i was hoping it was a head gasket since it was two cylinders right next to each other.. pulled the head today and it looks to only be HG. off to the machine shop on tuesday.

Glad it was just the head gasket!

Some of the others looked like they were about to go as well.

What typically causes a HG to burn out between cylinders like that?

honestly i'm not sure but i do know that this is the crappy victor reinz gasket, which is known to blow out for no reason. this is the first time i've opened this motor up. PO of the E36 had the head completely rebuilt and had the VR gasket kit so he just put it in since he was selling car :/ not mad or anything, the head is in amazing condition and the car runs hard as crap when it has all six cylinders.

                        lol

i'm flying out to ohio next weekend to pick up a new daily. it will replace this car so i was planning on posting it for sale.

get s52 back together, get some running, driving, hooning vids and compression numbers to prove that it all works as it should and then maybe post a fs ad for a week or two and when it doesn't sell, start to tear it down.

You'll be back. I've considered selling mine several times to get one of those but I knew that the E30 gave me that analog feeling I needed and that E46 would not

i haven't gone anywhere yet.. i've still got the race car chassis but that's on an undetermined pause.

i've been e30ing for a long long time, it's going to be nice to have something different (and an s54).

fyi; everything will be parted with EXCEPT the lukebox, roof rack, & gold bbs. the rest is fair game.

:( if it goes up for sale I might be interested. I've been trying to find a solid e30 for a while now.

The work that Adam has put into the car is incredible. This is a guy who does things right. $9K for a car that well sorted would be a total steal!
