Not much of an update, but I finally pulled the car out into the sun the other day for the first time since it was detailed.
Just for fun, heres a picture from december when I just picked up the car. Notice how crappy the hood looks from the paint shrink (and too be fair, from being dirty)
And heres how it looks now (the 325i is almost in the same spot too lol)

I've had nothing really to report lately, but here's a small update.
I picked up a e30 m3 rack. I debated on swapping a tighter rack, however I did not want to modify the steering knuckle. Also grabbed a new power steering reservoir and boots.
I realized I still was missing the splash guard. It helps as a fender liner as well as keep the front bumper up.
Other then that, I have four rotors and pads waiting to go on. Still gathering parts to get the stereo back to stock. However I realized the PO cut the speaker holes of the parcel shelf out so mounting the premium speaker housings just got complicated.
It was nice last week, so I drove it to work.
Also entertaining the idea of painting the e38 weaves nogaro silver.

Im sick of my crappy cell phone pictures. So when I was at a weekly gtg at sonic, I asked my friend to take some decent pictures of my car. (engine bay mostly)
And one of me next to my car. Ordering some mozz sticks.
Hope Ill have more to update this with soon. I still need to replace the steering rack, change the brakes, then I can start looking towards suspension. I also need to think about pulling the injectors, I seem to have starting issues intermittently, and I'm starting to suspect I have some clogged up injectors.Current:

I was sick of the aftermarket radio in the car. Started with the headunit.
I started yanking everything out. Thankfully I was able to pull every last wire from this stereo system out. Look at this shit.
The amp was crudely mounted in the trunk on a piece of wood, screwed right into the sheet metal. They fucked this trunk panel up in the process.
Thankfully the one in my 325 is compatible and in good shape. Ill find another or maybe get a new made if I can. Anyways, my trunk looks nice and clean now.
I don't have the new old headunit wired up yet, but I threw it in to fill the empty space. Looks awesome. Hopefully I can get it to work.
I also painted the black trim part of the c pillar window trim pieces. They were poorly painted by the PO, it was peeling off.
After (it wasn't completely dry in this picture. Overnight it dulled a bit and matches the rest of the trim well)
Next up is to repair the rear parcel shelf so I can mount the premium speakers.Current:

So I finally took care of something that really bugged me about the car.
I didnt take before pictures, so heres an old photo that best shows the old rear speakers on the parcel shelf.
Here you can see the holes the PO cut. Too big to fit stock premium speakers, so it must be repaired.
So I went and bought some fabric, glue, hardboard, and a dremel to complete the task. But I figured I would post a wtb ad to see if someone happened to have a tan rear parcel shelf. Thank the m3 gods I did, because someone responded with an ebay ad that had 2 hours left on bidding. So I scored a used one that wasnt cut or anything. Looks SOOOOOO much better looking through the rear windshield now. It was such an eyesore before.
And I also replaced the missing cover behind the pass headlight.
Still working on wiring the speakers up.Current:
