The 3 bolt guibo is slightly thinner so pay attention to correct driveshaft length when shortening.
Being as this is an 82 320iS, it likely has the Getrag G240, not the G245. The G240 is shorter than G245, so I will have to triple check distance between the guibo and diff mating surface.

It's a parts car, I'm giving it a good death.
Besides, after I sell the diff, seats, and wheels, I'll have $0 into it. I didn't pay asking price...not even close.world renown Harry Potter expert

I've heard that some people prefer the g245 over the g240 because the shift forks(?) are stronger and tend to not break as much as the g240's would. But then again, I have never grenaded a transmission because of poor shifting.
I think this is all relative. I still intend on using what this 320iS came with.world renown Harry Potter expert

I called in a towing favor from our very own Archie's Towing (Archie's Ice Cream) to transport the white 320iS from Fullerton to Long Beach, and the blue 1600 from Long Beach to Fullerton, this morning.
If went great, zero problems, would recommend to all. Archie's is good people.
Pictures:
Interior is beat:
And here is the little blue car, being loaded up on Archie's flatbed tow truck.
Things I really want Ronin Autowerks to do:
-Tinker with the carb, dial in the jetting and such.
-Look at the linkage and recommend something better (for now) until I can implement a custom design.
-Play with suspension and see what can be done to lower the front/raise the rear.
-Move the fuel pump from the engine bay, to the trunk.
And who knows what else they recommend.
I mostly want them to give the car a good "once-over" to look for any mistakes or problem areas that will need addressing. I'm not a master mechanic, I'm a college student who spends too much time reading things on the internet. I make mistakes all the time.world renown Harry Potter expert

Get a wideband so you don't have to 'play it by ear'. Tuning carbs isn't rocket science but when you say 'it sounds like it's starving' doesn't translate to anything other than you need better diagnostic tools. It could be your timing for instance that prevents you from going WOT. Sorry if I come across hostile, people will read this and think they too can become the Carb Whisperer.Originally posted by IRON-EYeah, you're definitely a vw

I hate to say this, but I'm actually thinking about selling them and sticking with 13s. 13s just seem so right for the car. And besides, the white 320iS came with the et18 Mesh wheels. Those always look good on 02s. Decisions decisions.
Updates:
Nothing on the blue car, but managed to start cleaning up the shop and check out the newly refinished Alpina wheels for the e28 m5 project. Next up on that project: Euro Bumpers.
Then I used one of the big fork lifts and two 2x4 pieces of wood, and lifted the 320iS off the ground. I used a big, portable steam-powered pressure washer and cleaned up the undercarriage a bit. I just wanted to get as much grease off the car as possible. This was done in preparation for the tear-down.
I'm looking at the wheels now and they sure would look good on the blue 1600. hmmmmmmmmmm. I need to stop having these thoughts. They are making me poor.
Anyways, here are photos.
Cut springs!
LSD:
Engine Bay; I didn't clean it.
Rear suspension. Bilsteins are nice, cut springs are not nice. Kooks.
Getrag 245! Stoked!
Cleanish:
By the time I was done, I looked like a wet dog and had grease in many of my nether-regions. I was unfit to conduct business so I wrapped it up and went home for a shower. But I did take off most of the seat covers to see what was underneath. Just as I suspected:
