And for good lord, use the AKG swap mounts with Rouge trans mounts. Those Delrin rigs with buzz bomb the car apart. :)
I seem to be having fitment issues. Angles don't really line up. I followed AKG instructions. Set everything up loose. Still sits wonky.

You have a chassis-mounted shifter, right? Does that setup have enough play to allow for the engine's shift? (pun intended)
Yea shifter will be fine. Ill probably have to adjust it though.

They said to fill up half the trans with a quart of thicker oil (I don't remember which exactly) to reduce the rattle. It's still pretty annoying. But it will stop once I press the clutch in. Kind of makes me think the TO bearing is junk.

So I'm wondering, do you also have that problem with a lightweight setup? Transmission rattle when the car is idling?
The whole unit is ~18lbs. And yes it rattles and vibrates like a mofo. Pushing the clutch in also quiets. Doesn't sound like anything wrong with your setup, especially if you don't notice any performance issues. Ive literally had a few people warn me that "my car is broken" Ha!

I also have ball jointed control arms. But running a normal guibo, and 5lb flywheel (clutch masters small twin disc).

I had the FW/PP balanced before install but they didn't remove much.

So this whole oil pan repair has become quite the project.

It has snowballed into replacing the power steering pump, fuel lines, engine and trans mounts.

Ive known my power steering was dying for a long time. Its the second used zf pump. New ones are NLA. Last time I tried to buy one there were no options. This time I stumbled upon a new AAE unit offered through bimmerworld, so I'll give it a shot. I also saw rockauto offers rebuilt units.

That said, I have some logged knock at light load areas, which doesn't make sense unless it's false knock.
Maybe electrical, maybe noise from the mounts and I really have no way to tell other than trial and error changing mounts and whatnot.
So I bought the newest Revshift mounts, and while I'm a huge fan of Revshift's bushings and other mounts, I can't run these mounts because they move the engine further to the passenger side and I don't have room to do that (The claim is that they 3d scanned original/24v swap configuration and found it needs to move further to the right, I guess due to the increased lean angle?)

So I'm mentally preparing to buy a set of AKG at some point when my car is closer to the road, but they historically have spent way more time sold out than available. Probably why you didn't buy them originally, and was why I ended up with the Condor mounts as well.
Yup you are correct. I found my emails requesting lead time a few years ago. Got lucky this time around and got my hands on a set, along with their matching Trans mounts. Ill report back with some review.

Yea I remember the general mechanics of it. At one point a few years ago I was going to try to have a local machine shop machine the pump cavity, and the I'd just stick a spare M52 pump gear in it and save myself the $1500 VAC charges. But I don't have time for that, and am out of budget for this unbudgeted project. So I hope it won't be too bad for now. Maybe I'll try to source another used s54 pump and have it machined to be installed at a later date. I also stripped a bolt going into the rear main seal housing at the back of the pan. So I may already have a reason to open it up again in a few months.

I'll let you know in a week. Just ordered the AKG mounts. I don't think it's that bad, but yes it is a bit buzzy and I do get some vibrations at certain RPM.

Regarding the VAC pump upgrade... is it really that needed?? I spent too much on this side project already. That's another $1500+ 😭
