I picked up the hardware from the plater this afternoon. I'm very pleased with how everything turned out. Only a few pieces will need to go through again because they managed to get stuck together and some areas didn't get plating. About a half dozen items of alllll this hardware. I also might run the calipers through again and I'm less than thrilled with how they came out.

AC lines, power steering, wiper linkage.

Steering column housing, not actually supposed to be plated but I have two so I thought I'd run one through and see how it looks. These always get rusty and ugly.

The calipers, the stuff I'm not happy with is basically just the rear two caliper bodies. The fronts and the brackets came out pretty decent.

    Assorted "large format" hardware

All the small hardware that was wired together. I can see I did lose a few odd pieces here as the wire I used apparently work hardens and gets brittle after its twisted up.

About 60lbs of the main hardware from the car/drivetrain

annnnd sorting all of this stuff so I can see how many of each unique fastener I have, so I can bag each assortment by variant.

That's all for tonight, after sorting all of that my eyes are like FFFFUUUUU

I cant do it with an E30, but old vauxhalls I could assemble from a bucket of bolts so I can sympathise with that feeling. The bit that awes me is the sheer time and effort in blasting/buffing/wiring/sorting that quantity of mixed hardware! Makes a huge difference to the final job!

Whats next on the list Jordan?

Tonight I finished sorting out the washers, screws, quick nuts, and assorted misc clips.

I then starting putting it all in small ziplock bags, one pile at a time so it maintains its sort. I went through about 340 small ziplock bags, yikes.

Time to line up all the suspension and brake wear items for a photo

and lets not forget the Bilstein B8 Sports, and H&R Sport springs.

They were sore after the wiring stage, but the setup of the finished hardware was no big deal.

The shell is still on its side on the rotisserie awaiting the bodyshop to get back on it, sadly no progress has been made since I cleaned the undercarriage.

I'm *told* it will be jumped back on this coming week to finish out the metal work and start the rear body panel work to make it laser straight.

The plan as its been presented to me is the get the car straight and primered throughout. At that point it will be turned up on its side and have the underside refinished, then turned down to get painted. It will get painted in the engine bay, interior, and trunk on a Saturday after hours, and then Sunday the painter will come back in to back mask the chassis and paint the entire outside at once along with any loose bits that will fit in the booth with it.

I purchased 5x 15" Euroweaves. I'm expecting them to be dropped off from being completely stripped and refinished next week on Monday.
