Yes. Drill 'em, push them in to taste.

I triedm but one wont go in. So i am just going to buy them and do it the right way.

I think that you should ground all the primer off at the end.

Props for driveway prepwork, let's hope for good result.

And remember, as said many times, prep work is 98% of paintjob, the paint itself will not hide any scratches or dents, but make them more visible.

        ....Inspiration.

Good job man... that car is going to look so much better than when you started... I would have it painted some crazy bad ass unique color drop it and make a autoX track rat out of it.

          ...

So here is a real small update.

The car should for sure go off to paint tomorrow. That is when I should pick the final color. After I get It back I have to buy clips to put the moldings back on, and fit all the bumpers and lights and what not.
I have been really busy with work and school, and have been sick, so I didn’t get much done in the past week, but here it is. The camera died so I didn’t get all the final photos.

I painted the trim, and re did all the black plastic on the out side.

This is the product I used.

          Before pic of vent.

          After

          Front Grille

Almost done, but no final pic

          Shadow line trim

All I have done that day

I am not sure yet if I am going to gloss the shadow line trim. What do you think?

I vote paint it lapusblau (dark blue 91 color)... unless you don't want to screw with the door jambs,, then do zinnorot

if you like, red, I'd do calypso red.. I think it's the same color as your new door. that way your door jambs and engine bay won't be a completely different color.

nice work btw and score on the mtech peices. I don't know if you had a chance to go back and look at that car you got them from, but they come with sport seats, and some of them have the coveted mtech cloth.

well, you definitely bondoed the holy shit out of it.

all that work pulling trim and fenders off will be for naught once the paint starts bubbling and cracking.

I am going to keep it red. I am not sure about the calypso red. I will pick the final color tommarow.

About the bondo there is really not that much on the car. Its not that big of a deal.

                    Great Post

                    Hey, great post
                    - did you prime your trim prior to painting it with the duplicolor?
                    - what primer did you use?

                    thinking about shadowlining mine.

When I saw the first pics I was wondering why on earth you'd put any effort or money into that thing, but I must say I am impressed by the work so far. I hope the bondo works out for you. Whats your budget been so far? I can't believe you found an M-tech kit in a SFL junkyard, I've never even found a part worth buying in any junkyard down here (except the M50 my friend got for $214).

                          ...

The car is in paint right now, hence the reason for no updates. But i am trying to do what i can.

I have partially finished the Shadowline trim, i just need to clear coat it.

I had to redo the ones from last time:

                          Primer the new pieces:

                          Paint them:

Now here is something that could be done on an e30, e36, e46, or any car.
Sand down the lights: I used 500 grit sand paper and wet sanded them.

Tape up what you want to stay clear: I did the reverse light.

                          Also i did the sides:

Other side: Make sure your tape is adhered good, and the lines are straight.

                          Both of them together:

Now tape up the area around the amber, you will be putting a coat of red on this first to equal the color.

                          This is what i used:

                          A comparison while painted:

                          Both painted:

Tape removed: Notice how the colors almost match,

Comparison, Side by Side: One complete

                          Both Complete:

                          Tape Removed:

                          One ugly mother Fu(ke*

                          Final Complete Shot.

At this point you could choose to leave or clear them. I highly suggest clearing them. I am using automotive grade clear. I just need time to do it.

Next i am going to do Xenon Retro Fit on the head lights.
