Yea, legit.
"Chassis number is shown in photos" - which conveniently were taken with a Potato Pocket Cam from 1992... and no VIN listed for Ebay scrutineering/police review?
Yea, sign me up for bidding!!!
Side note -
Considering a P38, and first item on the docket is to replace entire ARS - bags, sensors, pump... then let the rest of the gremlins shake themselves out. :devil:Below the radar...Comment

Good news, everyone!
Some stellar news today for fans of classic Land Rover Defenders, imported vehicles and anyone who’s not a fan of civil forfeiture: Nearly a year after they were seized by federal agents in pre-dawn raids across the country, and a few months after our big exposé on the seizures, more than two dozen imported Defenders will be returned to their owners after the government agreed to drop their case.
Nice to see the feds do the right thing. I have a soft spot for Defenders, and it would hurt to see them crushed.Comment

They recycled letters.
"B" originally was 1981 (still fishy), then they ran out of letters, ran through some numbers, and went back to letters....so "B" is 2011 too.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

There are a ton of 89s that just came in on the east coast, all in fairly great condition too.
So school me on defenders, as far as i know, everything but the steel box frame is aluminum right? the fenders, doors, etc?
So theoretically I can strip one to the frame, blast it, por-15 it, undercoat it, and then put the chassis back on, and it should survive the salt of the US?Last edited by Wschnitz; 06-02-2015, 01:51 PM.

My understanding is the bulkhead is the most critical thing - it's steel, it rusts, and you have to disassemble the entire truck to replace it.
Then the rear frame rails, from getting spray on them, and there are some closed sections that don't vent well in damp climates.
Where did you see all the 89s?Comment

[QUOTE=slammin.e28;4421639]Lol, yeah, so far I've been lucky. Things have taken a beating.
I'm over in the opposite end of the state, Shenandoah Valley.
There is one pic I didn't show:

Everyone gets stuck, has a 76 Land Cruiser when I was a kid was stuck with my dad and 5 other trucks for 3 days in the mud, long weekend
I was in the park for memorial day weekend, drove Skyline dr with the wife, she came up for a week, Front Royal is a cool town, but Waynesboro has nothing that I saw, Cool area,88 M3 Lachsliber glass top, 90 IS project,Comment

Carolina, I think its that dealer that's been importing a ton of them, the one people suspected was vin swapping cars but actually wasn't.My understanding is the bulkhead is the most critical thing - it's steel, it rusts, and you have to disassemble the entire truck to replace it.
