Nonsense Thread
I was 1 and only owner of mine and was always serviced at the dealership with oil changes always done on time never over and the engine still started to go by the time we sold it. Although i think thats mainly because it spent its entire life towing and being daily driven in between. Right around 120k it appeared the valve guides/seals started to wear out and cam phasers were on their way out. If it sat for a couple days it would start up in a cloud of smoke which is indicative of valve guides/seals being worn out. My dads work truck before he got his new chevy had the 5.4 and at 150k the engine just gave out with no sign. He was driving to work one day and it just stopped and wouldn't start again. Had it towed to the shop and it was caput. Also replaced two of them with around 150-160k on them at my school already. It must be hit or miss with the engines. Some last some dontComment

Only issues I really saw with the 4.6/5.4 engines was spark plug threads blowing out. Easy fix. Aside from that, in my time at Ford in the mid 2000s they seemed solid. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

Even then there is nothing like drilling into a cylinder head pf a running/assembled engine to put a heli coil in. While you can get a good amount of the debris you cant get it all.Comment

I guess I just have that sentiment because I just fix them lol.
I've done so many timing chain/phaser jobs. Plus the whole spark plug thing can be a pain, especially to the customers wallet
This is what I use to take those fuckers out. And I just got a new kit to change the phasers without opening the whole front cover. But still, customers are forking over cash to get this shit done

1100-1200 dollar spark plug job when the plugs are ~50 bucksComment

Meh, every manufacturer has it's issues.
Heck, I hated my first e30 when I realized it needed u-joints, and that they were non-replaceable without the use of a high speed balancing machine. If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!Comment

This whole eclipse stuff is getting annoying. This state is gonna be packed on the 21st and i just don't get it. If i wanna look at it im gonna throw my welding mask on and go look at it hahaComment

^ That's my plan. My wife saw some cheap "eclipse glasses" at the store and asked me about it.
I told her nope. Just use my welding helmet. Don't get a second set of eyes.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

The trick I heard from my old shop teacher about the 4.6-5.4 spark plugs was to pour brake fluid in the ports for the plugs, let them sit for an hour or two and they'd come right out. Never seen it done though, so I can't vouch. I've had no problems with mine so far.
On the whole eclipse thing, I have an ex who lives in south Illinois, and she said the town she lives in has been packed for the last 3 weeks in anticipation of the eclipse. It's cool I guess, but definitely wouldn't be forking out cash for it.

Rofl easiest money grab of their life. Kinda like the McGregor Mayweather fight.
On the topic of my truck, got an email a couple days ago from tire rack that my wheels are back ordered till May, and every wheel of a similar style is either black, not the right bolt pattern, or at least twice as much.
