I would recommend GPS units on the trucks. Also, don't limit yourself to just Toyotas. I think a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon would be an awesome rig. Heck even a regular Gladiator would be a sweet deal.

Also, I dont see a winch on the front of the rig. Though that can induce other insurance concerns but also leaves the customer without a way to self-extract from being stuck.

Also, might want to have a "no-go" list of trails that they shouldn't be doing. I rented a jeep in Moab and Twisted Jeeps is who I used and they let me go on some higher difficulty of trails then other rental places. So having a map of a good route they can take or shouldn't take or areas to be cautious about would be a good idea.

People are stupid and dealing with the public you will see people that have zero experience and think they can do the hardest things.

Also, look for corporate sponsorship. Having a tire sponsor, equipment sponsor,...etc can help with covering the costs of having a business like this.

    Good luck!

Thank you for the follow on Instagram. Much appreciated!

I paid for a ton of services for a year, so I'm definitely going at least that long. R3v folks get a discount of course.

This idea is a good one.

People have such a hard on for overlanding, so i'm sure the fruits of this venture will be juicy.

Just gave you a follow on instagram!

Had an idea of this sort stewing in my mind for a couple of years and after a couple good conversations 20 days ago I decided to put something into action.

            Here it is.

Introducing: Overland Flagstaff - The premiere turn-key Overland rental company, propelled by the legendary Toyota Tacoma, located in the beautiful landscape that is Northern Arizona. Explore the lightly treaded areas of the Southwest behind the wheel of a fully equipped Overland rig.

OVFLG at Broken Arrow by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

Currently offer 1 truck, but I am in the process of acquiring and outfitting a second Tacoma.

Let me know what you guys think about the site. Feedback of all types is appreciated.
Hey, I think this is a great idea and Flag is the perfect place to base the business! I’ve lived there for 3 years and it seems like overland central (aside from Moab of course). Too bad the in-person expo was cancelled this year - that will be great marketing for you in the future.

My one suggestion would be to add some variety in your fleet. Personally I don’t love the rooftop tents and I’ll bet there would be other people interested in an insulated sleeping option. You could do one of those pop-up campers for the truck bed, add a lifted sprinter van conversion, or get a teardrop-style trailer that people could pull with one of your Tacos. We just bought one from Mountain Goat Trailers in Phoenix and have been very happy with it:

Anyways, good luck with the business, let me know if you need a hand from a fellow Flagstaffer. Maybe post-Covid I’ll swing by to see your rigs and talk E30s.

Better watch out burgs, 2mAn will soon have that massive sleep deprivation and will have no patience for shenanigans, but he will be up during early morning hours.

Oh my! Haven't been in here a min.

MR E30 325is that's B.A! Maybe not as cool as Baracus, none-the-less. I almost moved out to FS AZ in the mid-90's, but deferred here in FL and started a small concrete contracting gig. Such beautiful country for over-landing out there.

Of all the things possible, its been a very strange one for my car situation... and the year isnt over yet!
