100% correct - and they are currently being sued for the jailing of 500 protesters during the G20-G8 meeting in Toronto. Which is why Canada's Conservative government doesn't have my support. Not to mention that Canada has just been denied a seat at UNO's security council essentially because the Conservatives who are governing have previously voiced that they didn't believe in UNO (about 3 years ago), that they inconditionnally support Israel, that they don't support birth control in Africa (obviously for religious reasons), and they refused to agree to the Kyoto agreement (to support Alberta's tar sand businesses which are the core of Alberta's economy (did I mention that Stephen Harper is from Alberta?). Basically, Canada has shown that they don't have the qualities to help in a mediation during a conflict because of its "extreme" views.
