It feels so good to be #1 in the world for a change!

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, 77,255 new cases were reported in the US on Thursday, marking the first time the country’s daily caseload has surpassed 70,000.

The record is the highest one-day total for any country during the pandemic so far.
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...tal-trump-poll

    We're #1! We're #1!

But don't worry, as soon as Trump is done blocking the nation's hospitals from reporting data to the CDC, cases are bound to drop!

Drain the swamp! At least, as long as you're draining all that dough into Trump's personal fortune..

A great money making scheme for him, a principal reason he enjoys Presidency. Reminds me of the investigation into Trump's "Charity" -- The Trump Foundation -- which was then fined and court-ordered closed in 2019 due to self-dealing and illegal campaign contributions.

David Fahrenthold, who's twitter post you linked there, won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017 for his investigation. "After the Iowa caucuses Fahrenthold set out to learn what had become of the $6 million Donald Trump said he’d raised for Veterans... He soon discovered that the candidate had stopped distributing money, despite having given out only a fraction of what he raised. That was the start of a much longer reporting effort, one that eventually expanded to cover all of Trump’s charitable giving and the illusions he’d created over his lifetime." A good story to look into, and not the only one! Fraud is so rampant with Trump. It's disturbing so many don't mind looking the other way purely on political party affiliation.

The Monorail salesman definitely came to town!

are we ready to talk about drumpf's secret federal police disappearing protesters from portland?

          https://www.forbes.com/sites/jemimam.../#6c660fff70de

who wants to keep arguing with me about whether we live in a fascist state when unmarked police in unmarked vehicles are abducting people from the streets?

I saw that and thought about posting. It's funny how the MAGA warriors are all about "muh rights!!" as long as it's someone else's being infringed upon.

I'll bet it was actually ICE or DHS agents. Living near a busy border, I've known this for years - as the law is currently written, basically anywhere within 100 miles of a land or sea border is essentially a no man's land. ICE or DHS agents can do basically anything they want, search and seizure, arrests, deportations - anything. and there's no "due process" to save you.

it's worth noting that both the mayor of portland and the governor of orgeon want these assholes gone

you libertarians and freepers got my back on the states-rights argument this time?

It's simple math. People wanted rid of Clinton hierarchy, reps had Trump. Trump wins, gets the bulk of sh!t out if the way, conventional politics is needed, BOOM. WYSIWYG

I registered in 1996 as a Rep, cause that's what mom/pop did. Voted for Obama, and damned sure hated Hilary. Trump was in the right place at the right time, even my 84yt old Gramma, life long Dem, was wearing a MAGA hat...freaking Irish immigrant who bore 8 children "al' natrual' al'". Yup, eight on one side, seven on the other.

Anyone remember Dukakis passing out cigarettes for his campaign? Lol. 1984 was a strange year, but NES Duckhunt was the bomb!

I personally think the federal government of the United States should be dissolved and each state should be its own sovereign nation. Some of the larger states (e.g. California, Texas) should split into smaller countries. Alaska is an icy wasteland that might as well be sold back to Russia (maybe Canada?); the Russians and Canadians are much better at tolerating cold climates than the Americans. Having a federal government manage a landmass this big never works well in the long term. There are way too many different people/groups with different wants. This is why places like Hong Kong and New Zealand work so well - they’re small countries with highly capitalist economies and relatively small populations. I’ve honestly thought about moving myself and my E30 over the New Zealand at some point in the next 20 years.

On top of that the US federal govt has become nothing but a big steaming pile of regulations and silly taxes over the last 120 years. At this point it is just an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy - a pest.

My dream might come true within the next 40-60 years once the US Federal government is unable to manage the insane amounts of debt it has created and causes states to pull out from the union.

You don't give a shit what anyone thinks besides yourself, that much is certain. Then you would have been court-martialed and possibly dishonorably discharged.
