But follow @ dockweilermeet on instagram for the most current stuff. I will probably take forever to process all the nice pics, whereas cell phone pics will go up almost immediately there.
I won't let you down though!

I heard the same thing but they didn’t say it to me. I was in my i3 so they must’ve assumed my silent car wasn’t a problem next to the straight piped shitbox bimmers. Luckily they had already swiped my cars for the parking so I went in anyways... and sure enough everyone at the end and an event still poppinSimon

I got there at 1p and the 3 cops were in line ahead of me so I shifted over to the attendant on the right. Parking attendant asked "Are you here for the car show" (I was in my e39), I said "yeah", he said "I can't let you in" I said "why not," he said "they told me I can't let any BMWs in".
I pulled forward, parked to the side, and went to talk to the manager all the while a LA county lady in a white county sedan was speaking to the cops. Cops proceeded to go in and lady walked back to her car. I told the manager that I'm going to the beach and that I'm parking in the first lot away from the "car club", he reluctantly sold me a pass. As I was driving away straight to the third lot, I saw the LA county lady yelling at him for letting me in, lol. Cops ended driving in and hanging out checking out the cars, they were cool and didn't bother anyone.sigpic

Okay okay, as one of the hosts, here's my understanding...
This has more to do with previous events (not ours) than it was specifically about us.
Previous meets, formed by low riders, old men on choppers, and whatever else of that nature, caused some ruckus, which has essentially ruined it for everyone.
Additionally, towards the beginning of the meet, the beetchy old supervisor woman had come down to our parking lot to inspect the scene. She spoke with a couple of guys at random... who weren't exactly kind to her. She wanted some basic info, but the guys had a "whatever, don't bother us" attitude towards her. So naturally, that told her all she wanted to know, and didn't want to find out who was in charge; she just labeled us as a problem. Which I can understand, but... we really weren't a problem.
There was one state park guy yelling at everyone who wasn't parked in the lines, and at all the booths for being on the asphalt and "taking up parking spots". Like, holy sheet dude, relax. We already paid to be here. I heard some tickets were handed out to the badly-parked people, and to the trailers/tow truck guys. Us with the booths just move back onto the sand. Whatever.
I started getting a couple messages about the no-entry on Instagram. I brought it up to my partners, Edwin and Leo. Edwin drove up to the entrance to discuss the problem. Leo says he paid off a couple park rangers, but it was ultimately up to the whore on the hill wielding her tiny stick. I am reciting what I remember from what Edwin told me, and I don't remember everything.
The police were actually cool, they even said they are happy to have us because we were chill. They'd rather have us than the other sheetbag cars that caused a ruckus. The police said we had to go after we had our raffle. Which most people did.
As far as I know, nothing bad happened. No reports of bad behavior that reached my ears or eyes.
I was just baffling to me that we made the park sooo much money, and we weren't a problem, but yet they had the audacity to throw us out and turn others away. Someone said we were eligible for a refund, but.. word got back to us that this wasn't true. Dirtbags!
We don't know what we will do in the future. After the hectic weekend, we'll meet back up to reevaluate future plans.
For now, I really appreciate those of you who attended, and hopefully enjoyed the event! I/we were so busy that we could barely escape to just walk around.
Ps I didn't take any picturesI'll be resharing photos from others. If you have any (Barry
), please share!

I drove my truck in ( reoccurring theme for me and its getting old) about 11:30 and the gate keeper dude was cool and happy to have the event. I really enjoyed the setting, people and the vendors. I would say it was a nice event and the beach setting makes it different than other local events. I was on the other end when the Man showed up and its too bad some people got hassled. If you make any changes to the location there are other beach cities geared to hosting events like Huntington Beach. Yes permit. But maybe more vendors would like to join in and make some money. the date of this is far enough from So Cal Vintage and Bimmerfest west is gone.

So I/we need to figure out how to host the meet with less intervention from the park staff. (The cops weren't the issue, it definitely originated from the park staff). Permit? Move locations? That will be a conversation we will have.
