Guys, I may be an idiot for this, but I need a DD and these fit my budget ($5k), and are something nice, newer, and comfy.
Found a couple E38 740i Sports and iLs, and a couple E31 840Ci on Craigslist, and am seriously considering them. Ideas/thoughts/nightmare stories?
It's no E30, but I want to try something else.
e38s are huge boats
I still have that M3 ;)Comment

Hi Guys --
I'm at a crossroads. My 91 318i has a head gasket issue. Interior and exterior are in excellent shape and I've enjoyed the car, but now it's sitting in the garage and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. 1. Leave it as is, find another car and let it go to someone else who can fix it up and have fun with it; 2. Repair it, recognizing it's an investment; or 3. Take advantage of this opportunity to do an engine swap, expecting that a shop will do most of the labor due to my limited time and facilities. Logic suggests going with the first option, as further investment won't easily be recouped, but why be logical?Comment

Get it checked. Some places will put it on the rack and check it for free, then only charge you if you want em to change it.paint sucksComment

The worlds only (for now at least) flying B29 will be in the Bay Area the end of May beginning of June. It hasn't made it to the west coast in decades.
