I may also soon be in the market for a S52 short block.

Part of the reason why David and I are debating OBD1 s52s.

BTW - M5 motor mounts successfully installed. I think I fixed the steering issue (would be very surprised if I didn't). Car is getting closer and closer to being roadworthy!

Working on Pitman arm steering is a royal PITA when you have an S38 crammed in your bay to negotiate around. bleh. I would NOT EVER want to have to work on an E30 with an S38 swap. ffffffuuuuucckkk that!

We shall see. All depends what the mortgage counselor says.

Really? Is the S38 much bigger then the M30 down there? We did the entire front on my friends 535 and it didn't seem that bad at all.

He's (or his car) is like the super-titty barbie model that sets unrealistic standards of beauty for little girls.
Yes David and Clark are little girls.

And yes Chris is uber hot....duh

                        That is all.

Plus you all would be much happier comparing you car's performance and appearance to my beater!

The S38 has the intake on the proper side, and that entire plenum thing takes up a fair amount of space. Plus it has a significantly larger head. I was looking at Andrew's 535i yesterday, and it had sooooo much more room in the bay than mine.

The first thing I noticed in yours was the less space up top. I just assumed it was from ITB's and such. Pretty interested to hear the head is bigger and such.

Yeah, it's a two-piece head (much wider, and taller than the M30 head), with spark plug wells deeper than the Mariana Trench.
