Need some stuff
So anyway, if anyone has any cheap E30 wheels and/or tires kicking around, please let me know. (i know i know I shouldn't have sold the steelies)
also, I have in my posession a pretty sweet Yakima rack for an E30 with a bike piece and snowboard piece, whatever the crap you call those. It also locks, and I have extra keys as well. make me an offer that I can't refuse!

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Few pics of my latest hang gliding race. This one was super hard. The conditions would vary from being super light in the flat lands to booming in the mountains at the far ends of the tasks. I would grovel my way across the flat lands and dive into the mountains sometimes ridiculously low. There were more than a few times that I would have been spending the night, a full day's hike away from vehicle access if I didn't find a climb. Luckily, that never happened. I did almost get hit by a Marine CH-53 helicopter. It passed less than a mile off to the south. Hanging there out in the breeze I could feel the rotor beats in my heart!
At cloud base at 9000' on day 2
Completely exhausted after 5.5 hours of flying yesterday. I had two low saves and a terrifying climb through nasty turbulence in the mountains from below peak height to 10,000'. I still only managed to fly half the task.
My track log overlaid on the 76 kilometer task today. The course is in blue (an FAI triangle flown in the clockwise direction), my track log is in white. The circle bits are when I was climbing, the straight sections are gliding. I glided over 40 kilometers on the last leg from 10,200'. I wasn't sure I would make it at first, but made goal at 300' which was enough altitude to buzz the hotel tower!

And, saving the best for last, two long edition E38's with hang glider racks. They make super comfortable road trippers. The E38 is my favorite 7 series.
JOY IS AN E30...
