How can you tell when your synchros are going out, and or when your shifter assembly bushings are gone?

How are we suppose to guess your problem with terrible details like this?

I believe its something along these lines

Clutch fails = car wont climb hills. Makes horrible noises when engaging and disengaging
Bushings fail = play/slop in shifter
Syncros = grinds (happens on all getrags to my knowledge) Usually 2nd gear

It's kinda of depressing looking at it in the back of my shop. I need to pull that engine and trans and get going on the motor.
