Step 1 - Commit yourself totally to spending a lot of time and money, make sure you want this car.
The MINIMUM amount of money required to import and federalize a European car is approximately $10,000

Well, that popped the 4500.00 budget real quick. Also consider, the car probably isnt' in PERFECT condition. You're still looking at Maintenance, and wear items to get it back to
"square one".
Do what i'd do. Keep dreaming. haha.clutchCTRL!Move with a purpose.- 1991 325iX 4dr/5spd- 1976 2002 SlickTop/2.7i M20/G260- 2000 323i AT2016 Mazda CX3 Sport AWD

Depends on how old it is, if it's 25+ years you can just drive it across.Alpha Team Inductee

Drop a Google on it, cars over 25yrs old don't have to qualify for emissions or safety, which is what federalization is all about.
I think that Criv's is an 88 so he just barely got in under the cutoff.Alpha Team Inductee

While washing my car on my lunchbreak I noticed the Driver Side Part #'s 2, 3, and 4 (In this REALOEM break down - http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...92&hg=51&fg=20) have some play in them. They aren't partially falling off or anything but the Passenger side parts seem to be holding on ALOT tighter.
Curious how these pieces get held on to the body, just want to make sure they aren't going to fall off like so many other's claim they do! Might be a good time for Shadowline, but I love the contrast the chrome provides.clutchCTRL!Move with a purpose.- 1991 325iX 4dr/5spd- 1976 2002 SlickTop/2.7i M20/G260- 2000 323i AT2016 Mazda CX3 Sport AWD

That stuff is crimped on. But you can use glue to hold it in place

So in theory, you should be able to just crimp them on tighter and they'll be gudntight?
Feels good coming back to work after a long vacation. Was starting to drive myself crazy with all this relaxing I was doing. How some people stay "unemployed" for what seems like FOREVER is beyond me. I couldn't do that to myself.clutchCTRL!Move with a purpose.- 1991 325iX 4dr/5spd- 1976 2002 SlickTop/2.7i M20/G260- 2000 323i AT2016 Mazda CX3 Sport AWD
