I have a harness and ecu for the m30, so I'm a little ahead there, and also love the torque. Is an m52 swap a better choice?

      Also need a radiator fan.

Haven't looked much into the m60 family, mainly due to being very unfamiliar with them, and finding a 6 speed, or even a 5 speed is a little pricey compared to a g260, or a ZF. I would do it, cause I love v8's, just after the sweet inline 6. Is it almost plug and play like an m52, or an m30? I hear the m60 family is pretty reliable, is that true? Also, brake booster relocation is not something I want to do. If it's as straight forward as an m52, or m30 swap, I may consider it.

Still looking for a zinno passenger fender. 😢

I've got pass/drivers Zinno fenders... $140, and they come with free IX fender flares.

I vote M52 or even an S50 if it's within your budget. You're correct in thinking the M52 and M30 are easier than a V8; they're much more documented and require less custom fabrication, and the parts are easier to source.

24V is just more modern with DOHC; better fuel economy, easier to diagnose. I think at this point M5X is the cheapest if you're doing the swap on the tight.

M30 though is pretty sick in that it's simple and can be made to produce a lot of power as well.

New driveshaft showed up for our 88 iX at the shop.

Powertrain Industries in Texas has been the hookup. Most everything I need they have in stock and ready to ship out - check them out for your driveshaft needs.

Also had a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid in the shop today for oil service and summer tire swap. Thoughts on a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid?
