    This is an interesting discussion.

adam.nonis sent another picture that shows roughly where the top of the oil level sender on a stock pan sits. Maybe an inch above the flange line?

Here's a section of my pan with the bottom line showing my oil level compared to the distance to the flange line, which is 25mm (1.0")

So, I supposedly have another TWO INCHES of oil to add to get to the stock "full" line, where my current depth in the sump part of the pan is 3.2" I could easily have about 8-9 quarts to be at the stock height?

On my next track day I will add 1 qt of oil at each session and see how that translates in oil pressure stability.

Just for fun, here's another angle of that section view....

Reference the previous posts about oil level.

      Here's data from 3 back-to-back sessions.

The first session had the oil level at a little over 5 quarts, a few mm below the baffle top plate.

Then I added a liter of oil before the next session, then another 0.8 liters before the last.

This section of track is fairly steep down hill that takes me from around 110mph to 30mph under heavy braking, it's where I would expect to see the flickering oil pressure light on previous swaps.

The extra oil does a lot to maintain pressure here, raising it from around 18 psi to 32 or 33.

In the extended-sweeper corners the difference is not noticeable. I don't see any oil pressure issues with any oil level, oil pressure just follows engine rpm for the most part.

        What viscosity and oil temp?

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

Can you plot oil pressure next to throttle position and then zoom in some more?

Here are some examples. What are you looking for?

Interesting how that one dips more than rpm during an up-shift.

                Which way were you cornering?

lateral Gs and oil, you know...
now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

With this pan, i don't know...

I was turning left, then right, then left again for a while. No impact on oil pressure from cornering, even through sustained sweepers at 1.3G.
