Need a little advice. So I'm looking at redoing my front half shafts again .........yay, and with me upgrading to the 525ix drivline. Are the e30 half shafts used or are they 525ix only?

Bumping this because I am replacing the clutch in my E34 IX and will have all the drivetrain out tomorrow (including engine). Anyone need/want pictures or measurements of anything? It's all going back together Saturday, so make your requests now!

I think the e46 and e53 might have been the same. I know something was the same.

I guess I just need to go review...

Also did some more software tuning, now the tc locks at different set boost levels on each gear :) And it stays open all the time in 5th gear, no lock needed in 5th.

Ooops... I guess I didn't clarify that very well. I meant the splines where the shafts engage the CV joints... not where the CV joints engage the hubs. I *THOUGHT* all the BMW front drive hardware was the same at that location, but I may not be remembering earlier content in this thread correctly.

Ok, I'm going to have to go back through the 59 pages of this thread to figure out what interchanges with what...

There's a lot of "dead space" in the form of the guibo between the G260 and E30 T-case. A 6 speed with a fully integrated T-case might end up being shorter. I'm hoping my setup won't be too much longer, even though the trans itself is much larger than the G260, just because I can mount the T-case directly to the rear housing of the trans.
