Aircraft Landing light as a singular high beam? 28V??

Considering doing a high beam intake on the driver side and thought, why not make the remaining single high beam nice and bright which lead me to this

Its a 450W bulb that needs 28V ... however I am not smart in this arena (any arena?)

How would one go about powering this? Relay? LMK

It won't be very bright run at half voltage, but at least it'll last longer than 25hrs. 10A+ boost converter in a hot engine bay would be ridiculous. The real problem is that's a 7" bulb with a much tighter beam angle than a sealed beam.

How long do we really have our high beams on? 25-Hours is 1500 minutes, so that should last pretty long. Especially for >$10/ each

it's crap for that job. it's a show production light, the beam is not suitable for the road. it's great if you plan on dying in a head on.

I think the beam might be narrow... so thats the downside I see, but its also really bright. Anyways, this is why I am asking here. I am looking for a single high beam that will be more effective than what I currently have.

Any input?

I think the beam might be narrow... so thats the downside I see, but its also really bright. Anyways, this is why I am asking here. I am looking for a single high beam that will be more effective than what I currently have.

Any input?

they listed it as a par which is not the quite same as an acl. pars are generally for a wider dispersion wash of light. an acl will have more throw in a narrower beam.

edit: were you looking at the par56 or the 36? 36 is probably closer to your needs. also i'd look for one that has a scatter pattern, not just a spot. we run 500w par64s for front stage wash.

if you want to run headlight intake, you could switch your lowbeams to a dual filament style, such as the morimoto retrofits people are selling or the holley retrobrights, then technically you wouldn't need either of the factory inner highbeams

I'd just throw some round auxbeam/similar cheapo LED in there, assuming it's for light output and not looks.

This is definitely an option but once wiring is required it becomes a nightmare for me haha...

I rarely ever use the High Beam, except to alert 'sleepy' drivers so I am hoping if I'm losing one light to still have a 'nuclear' option to alert them.
