It's conventional and has enough ZDDP to meet the e30's needs.
Also great b/c it meets JASO MA spec so I can run it in my motorcycle

With use it will form a nice non stick coating on the cast iron block. The reduction in friction can add 20 to 30 HP to a M20.

i use a local brand conventional oil 10W-40 for winter and 15W-50 summer, though last summer i retained 10W-40Last edited by digger; 07-30-2023, 03:14 PM.89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

Bacon grease.... it seasons the cast iron block just right. Just remember to not cook acidic foods like tomato sauce. It attacks the coating and ruins the flavor. Use a m5x nikasil block for that stuff.Comment

Rotella T4 15w40 or Valvoline VR1 20w50. These engines need thick oil with high zinc content. If you use oil for modern engines, you won't get that - they're specifically low-zinc, because zinc wears out the catalytic converter.Comment
