Hey Mystikal, great thread, thanks for your time!
I am mounting tires on 16x7.5 et 20, I have decided on 205 50 16 (with your help through this thread), and have started researching tires. Do you have any experience with Continental Extremecontact DW? I am attracted to them for their weight and reviews! Other possibilities are Neo Gen's, Star Specs, 912's, although all of these are 2-3 pounds heavier per corner.
ThanksComment

DW's are excellent tires, definitely among the best street tires available. They far outperform the Neo Gen and 912 (I personally own or have owned both of these tires too, great for their price but not on the same level as the DW). Star Specs are great track/autox/mountain tires, but can't come close to the treadwear/ride/noise/wet traction that the Continental offers. I frequently recommend all 4 of those tires, but for the best in street use the DW takes it.Comment

how do you think a 235/35/18 would look on 18x8 and on a 18x9.5?Comment

Great! A client of ours is using that size on 18x9s (E36 M3 though). The sidewall height is a nice balance between the short 225/35 and tall 225/40 IMO.Comment

I want to get some lightweight wheels for my car (track autocross project)
basically I want the widest and the cheapest :)
things under consideration
Rota Slipstreams - 14lbs - can get 15x7.5 for 500 bucks for the set on 18wheels.com
TR - C1's - 13.6lbs - tirerach 88 bucks a piece- total price like 370 - seems like a good deal but how strong are these wheels really? 15x7 or 99 a piece for 15x8
Dforce LTW 15x7 - 13lbs- nice but pricy
Now I plan on eventually getting a RX7 front brake upgrade and want to run at least 225 all around. square setup - what is the best wheel for this, also I would rather buy used rather than new if anyone is seling a set especially with tires let me know i have cash ready. no more than $500Comment
