    615,000-mile E30

A 615,000 automatic E30 appeared for sale on FB in Maryland.

It's the highest mileage E30 that I've seen for sale.
It seems that the E engine and automatic transmission are pretty reliable.

I am the original owner of this 1986 BMW325E. I have maintained (dealer and local BMW repair shop) this vehicle for over 35 years and garage kept. This vehicle has over 615K miles, runs good, body is good shape ( couple rust spots), new wheels and tires, interior is very good, some wear on driver seat, automatic transmission ( original) but the underneath is rusting. This car would make a great donor car or for someone who can take the time to part out, as I have no inclination to do so!

Yeah, that's the whole ad, except where he wants $5k for it. Strange because it looks pretty decent in that one picture, I wonder how worn out a 600k mile car really is.

The better question is, what E30 odometer would work for 600k miles, or how many times would it be repaired in such a distance? Either way, one pic frequently means it's not a legitimate ad.

He says he replaced the block at 285k miles. The transmission is original.

You can't expect him to be an expert in computers if he bought the car when he was 40 and 35 years ago.

If stock, I'm shocked the dashboard isn't cracked.

              They didn’t make a 325is in 1986.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

FB doesn’t offer the eS option, which leads to several misrepresented listings.

Fixed. But atleast do they offer just 325e? which is what it is?

Anywho. They all need everything, And if cared for.. 1/2 of everything... :)

The fun side of me says rack more milage as a daily, the other side says rack more rack time as another project.

He really lives in the woods, not in Arizona. And he has a garage.

Prevent cracks in a dashboard by protecting it from ultraviolet light and extreme heat. Park the car inside a garage or in a shady location. Use a windshield screen or a car cover year-round to block sunlight and prevent damage. Apply a moisturizing treatment to the dashboard to prevent the PVC from drying out. Select a treatment that contains a sunscreen to block ultraviolet light.

Is Aerospace 303 still the go-to for dash protectant?

i question the authenticity of the mileage. 1986 and later cars had the 150mph speedometer. this has a 1984/85, 140mph unit.
