I deleted my oil cooler over the weekend to make way for an intercooler. For reasons I cannot understand, a previous owner on this car removed the dip stick tube and plugged it in the block, so I don’t have a good way to check oil level. For those with an M20B25 without an oil cooler, how much are you filling your cars?

I put in 5 quarts in my non cooler m20. You might want to see if you can put a dipstick tube back on it. I would. -
I put 5 liters (5.28 quarts) in my oil-cooled m20. I don't think the oil cooler drains much during an oil change.
I would also see about putting a dipstick back in your car.sigpic

The oil cooler volume is not a huge amount, so around 5 quarts to 5L will do the job.
The figures you see stated for the m20b25 and m20b27 are the same and the b27 never came with an oil cooler. Admittedly they also state 4.25L when 5L seems to be more correct on the dipstickLast edited by digger; Today, 01:19 AM.89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...
