        e30
        e36
        f80
        e46
        g80

This is based on driving experience- how it drives, looks, and sounds

no so much as to cost, reliability, complexity ect ect
I get the list. Probably similar-ish for me, with some caveats.

Yeah, it depends on how you would use it, and if you had unlimited/enough funds to make it how you want it. I'd want something I could enjoy pretty much at any time, not keep it cooped up in the garage/showroom.

        - E30 M3 looks wise and with a swapped engine (S54 perhaps) is pretty close to peak for me, or something lighter with enough hrsprs for fun and reliableness. Oh and it has to have incredible AC.
        - E36 M3 with something swapped in with all the things follows that pretty close, S54 is the easy pick, but others can fit.
        - E46 M3 is great... but as a good friend -- Holland --- would attest, as a daily it doesn't shine. The engine is amazing but in stock even modded form, it can become a bit tiresome to daily. Right? Don't wanna put words in your mouth.
        - E90 with a good exhaust and a set of wheels and tires, maybe suspension is one hell of a DD/other car. V8 sounds with the right exhaust, it's no wonder why this has become a fave to so many.
        - Not enough seat time/experience with G?? or F?? cars, but styling/looks wise G80 is dead last. I don't care how fast it is. Old man noises, get off my rock lawn.

If there was one car to do it all, and I could only have one M3 over the rest to own... it's hard to deny the E30 M3 - but it is more an E30 M3 shell in my eyes. I respect them stock, but if it was mine...

Thing is, a BRG E36 M3 Sedan with something spicey would check many boxes for me too.

Emotion still plays a huge part for me.

always considered the 1series to carry the dna and spirit of the e30.
