        e90
        e30
        e36
        f80
        e46
        g80

        This is based on driving experience- how it drives, looks, and sounds

        no so much as to cost, reliability, complexity ect ect
        I get the list. Probably similar-ish for me, with some caveats.

        Yeah, it depends on how you would use it, and if you had unlimited/enough funds to make it how you want it. I'd want something I could enjoy pretty much at any time, not keep it cooped up in the garage/showroom.

        ===

        - E30 M3 looks wise and with a swapped engine (S54 perhaps) is pretty close to peak for me, or something lighter with enough hrsprs for fun and reliableness. Oh and it has to have incredible AC.
        - E36 M3 with something swapped in with all the things follows that pretty close, S54 is the easy pick, but others can fit.
        - E46 M3 is great... but as a good friend -- Holland --- would attest, as a daily it doesn't shine. The engine is amazing but in stock even modded form, it can become a bit tiresome to daily. Right? Don't wanna put words in your mouth.
        - E90 with a good exhaust and a set of wheels and tires, maybe suspension is one hell of a DD/other car. V8 sounds with the right exhaust, it's no wonder why this has become a fave to so many.
        - Not enough seat time/experience with G?? or F?? cars, but styling/looks wise G80 is dead last. I don't care how fast it is. Old man noises, get off my rock lawn.
        ===

        If there was one car to do it all, and I could only have one M3 over the rest to own... it's hard to deny the E30 M3 - but it is more an E30 M3 shell in my eyes. I respect them stock, but if it was mine...

        Thing is, a BRG E36 M3 Sedan with something spicey would check many boxes for me too.

        Emotion still plays a huge part for me.

              Ok, if we get gobacks, can I have just one e90 M3?

              And maybe a spare, so that when I wreck it, I can put its drivetrain into an E34 wagon?

                is that the 2 series now?

                the current euro and Australian market 1 series seemed to be a good successor, until they went longitudinal...

                  For the NA market:
                  E46
                  E36
                  E30
                  E92
                  F80

                  Factor in cost and reliability then I think e36 would be #1 for sure, but overall the e46 is just more special. When it comes to the e30 I think I'd rather just have a 325is. The e92 and f80 look like they grew in size too much. If I had the resources to mod each one how I wanted I think the e46 would still be on top but the e30 a much closer 2nd.

                      2series is larger. the 1series is no more now, it's a dozen yrs dead. i'm kinda looking over the used market now for a clean one. we only got the e82 coupe variants here.

                        Honestly a 6 speed 128i with some simple mods would be really nice as a do many thing car.

                          This is the correct list

                          Euro E36 though, otherwise E46 > US E36 although might be hard to beat Oxford Green E36 with black vaders

                          I also have a soft spot for F80 but E90 is more "special" with the V8
