Its easy as hell too. Except for wiring the VTEC because we were waiting on an ECU we did one in just under an hour.

Not being one who really desires to drop an ass-load of money on a car (to me that's anything over $35K), there are a number of cars I wouldn't mind having that would make for great transportation on the cheap....
E28/E34 535i w/ a 5 speed
Ford Mustang 5.0 (excellent track car candidate)
E36 325is/328is
Porsche 911 SC (preferrably 1980-1983 model....s/r coupe only)
In a few years Honda S2000s will depreciate some and those are going to become desirable performance bargains. Ditto for the Audi S4 with the twin turbo 6. But amongst all these choices, there's one alternative I wouldn't mind having: another Toyota pick up. Had one before my stint with E30s.....and I loved how utterly bulletproof the thing was. Best dam rig I ever owned. If I were to get one of these again, I would have to buy this to put in the back....

125cc shifter kart: 0-60 in about 5 sec., top speed just above 100, and over 2Gs of fun...all for about $3-4K.

It seems that Honda may drop the S2000 model line in the US simply because they want to focus more on economy cars in the United States. Heard this from the friend with the EH3 hatch (EG in Japan, EH in the US). If this has any truth to it, the price definitely won't be depreciating...Originally posted by Jon325iIn a few years Honda S2000s will depreciate some and those are going to become desirable performance bargains...

I dont see a camry at all. If I get a family car its going to be a Touring. An AUDI, Volvo, or a BMW. Toyotas make great cars, I just dont like Camrys, neither does the girl I will most likely be knocking up.
I didn'tthink many people on this board liked mini's

I had a Tacoma single cab with Daytons and 4 8 W2s and 6 other speakers. I had lowered it in the front by changing the mounts on the torsion bars and then inverted the leaf springs to lower the back (had to because I installed fastbags). To get the back as low as the front I had to manufacture a c-notch for the rails (wasnt a kit at the time).Originally posted by BMW BMXERYou had a minitruck?

I went through 3/16 urethane bumpstops all the time because I would run it bottomed out when rolling into places and such. The nice side effect is I got a deal on a few sets and I used my leftovers to make clutch stops for my E30 and a friends. 10mmx1.5 thread 2" long with a 2.5" wide urethan plate on the top, it was perfect for the E30.
I also had a paint-job that looked like I had just driven into blue water, inspired by the Ford Splash (but airbrushed SOOO much better by my good friend Jesus (RIP)).Im now E30less.

New Pontiac GTO (the one w/ the LS2, 400hp = fun). I'd drop my car like that *snap* if I could get into one. Then I'd buy a motorcycle :P

Without an E30, my next preferable choose would be an E34. I almost bought a sweet 535i before I got my E30 last year. I've wanted one ever since. Now that TCD's turbo kits are available, I want one even more! I love to restore something like a '73 3.0CS someday.
The only way I could get into the asian import seen is if I had serious money, and bought something like a Supra, RX-7, 3000GT or 300zx (all turbo of course) to play with.
I don't give a shit about VTECH motors, and I hate FWD no matter how much power the engine has.
A good friend of mine has a '90 Jeep Wrangler with 33" (i think?) tires and at least a 4" lift. Wicked fun to drive off-road, but I could never put up with something like that as a daily driver.
I don't think I could see myself owning a muscle ever. To me, most musclecars are far too ugly.
I'm actually checking out a couple Audi's this weekend, I just need temporary transportation while I save for another E30. But I could see myself getting into those cars. Quattro would definitely help in the winter here in MA, and older Audi's can be found for much cheaper than ix's. Audi's in general usually have conservative German styling like older BMWs, which is what I prefer.Comment

I don't think I could ever see myself in a mid-90s Muscle Car, but I might go for a classic restored one. They are definately cool, like the rides from fastlane and I saw a clean restored Camaro SS from the 70s which was hot on the Interstate and had to stare.

Even that. I'd pimp that.

(My buddy has a '67mustage and it is not a good daily driver, but I wouldn't mind one in the garage)Comment
