                    this is terrible :( you've worked so hard on that car. However cars are replaceable and I guess you can hit the next project hard with everything you've learnt doing everything yourself.

                      So I did a compression test on the m20 just to see its health. All cylinders are within around 7-8psi of eachother. Cyl #2 reads highest at 135psi and cyl#5 lowest at 128psi all the rest are exactly 130psi. So it seems to be within spec for an original m20 with close to 160k miles, it was done cold, dry and at 5500-5600ft elevation. For comparison my 200k+miles e23 with an m30 only has around 120-125psi compression.
